11 Little Tuyo

Tuyo is salted dried whole fish, preferably the small ones. The size range from 3" to 6 " long. The internal organs and scales are not usually removed.

Tuyo is either fried or broiled. it is served with fresh tomatoes. Tuyo goes well with fried rice, usually served with fried egg for a good weekend breakfast . It is also a perfect combination to eat with champorado, chocolate rice porridge.

For me, my favourite is to dip the tuyo with vinegar and eat with my hands with a vast amount of white rice.

Tuyo is widely available in the Philippines and before tuyo is consider as a poor man's dish, but now you can buy tuyo from the biggest supermarket to your local sari-sari store.
